The fourth collection of poems by the Rock Canyon Poets.

While in some ways, it feels like the Rock Canyon Poets have always existed, it is also surreal to send the fourth issue of Orogeny to print. We are on the brink of beginning our fifth year of poetic correspondence—writing and speaking to each other, for each other, and to/for a post-post-modern world of instant conflict as well as instant gratification. I’m most astonished, pleased, and proud of the diversity of voices and origins amongst the following poems and the poets who hold membership in RCP. While we don’t often agree in politics, religions (or lack thereof), the use of a semi-colon or an em-dash, we continue to establish lasting traditions and friendships that are often reflected in the poetry we create.

A tremendous thank you to all the poets who participate (as little or as much as they are able), specifically to those who trust Orogeny staff with your poems, to co-founder Bonnie Shiffler-Olsen for her friendship and passionate support, and to Austin Beckstrom—without his devotion and talent, Orogeny would never have been so fine.
